Crackle from Plasti-kote is a two part system of a base and a top coat that uses two ‘incompatible’ paints to give objects an antique look.

Application Notes

Before applying, test product on an inconspicious area to ensure compatibility and suitability.

Use Plasti-kote super primer to seal all porous surfaces prior to application of the Crackle base coat.

For a light crackle effect - apply 2 light coats of base coat then apply one even layer of top coat.

For a medium crackle effect - apply 2 heavy base coats, and while still tacky, spray 2-3 even layers of top coat.

For a heavy crackle effect - apply 2 heavy base coats and while still tacky, apply 3-4 even layers of top coat.

Sit back and watch the crackle effect appear before your eyes!

To preserve and protect, We recommend applying Plasti-kote Super Clear Acrylic once the crackle is dry.

Coverage & Surfaces

This paint can be applied to: Wood, Metal, Stone, Terracotta, Ceramic, Paper mache, Board, Plaster

Coverage approx 2.23m² Varies by colour & application.

Drying Time

Base Coat: Allow 2-5 minutes between applications.

Top Coat: Apply while base coat is still tacky.

Touch dry in 10-20 minutes.

Thoroughly dry in 30-50 minutes, depending on number of coats applied.
