How do I know how much paint to buy?
There’s nothing more frustrating than being in the middle of a project and you run out of paint!
To work out how much paint you need to buy, simply measure the area you are painting and then read the can you are buying. All out paints are clearly marked for coverage area. This will vary by finish but as a general guide most of our 340g cans cover approximately 2.23²
The important things to know are:
- Area to cover
- Number of coats required
For example if you are painting an area 1m² with 2 coats of paint. The total area to be painted is 2m². A finish with a coverage of 2.23² should therefore be sufficent for this job.
Remember that the coverage given is only an estimate and the actual quantity needed may vary due to technique and the material that the object to be sprayed is made from.
